Ling joined Goldman Sachs in 2006, and since then, she has been associated with the company. Ling leads as the Head of the North Asian region at Goldman Sachs PWM as well as Head of PWM Capital Markets, Equity Structuring, and Managed Strategies in Asia-Pacific. She was named as the Managing Director in 2010 and became a partner in 2024.

Ling is a first class honors Accounting graduate of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Ling joined Deutsche Bank's graduate training program straight after graduation and worked in its Global Markets division in London and Singapore before moving to Hong Kong in 2003. She has extensive experience in training, mentoring, recruiting and hiring for internship and permanent positions.

She is a dedicated volunteer in non-profit activities, with a particular focus on providing professional skills training and career counseling to under-resourced students.
